Your kick-off workshop

LOCATION
The kick-off is a highly interactive working session. Please join from a laptop or computer, with your camera and microphone available, and find somewhere you can participate without too many interruptions.
What to prepare
The Accelerator is built around applying better thinking to live work that already matters.
Before the kick-off workshop, please think about an important strategic priority, improvement, opportunity or project that you would like to progress during your first 60-day challenge.
Choose something that is:
- Important to you and your organisation
- Within your area of responsibility or influence
- Specific enough for you to make measurable progress within 60 days
- Likely to benefit from greater clarity, focus or momentum
You don’t need to arrive with a fully formed plan. The workshop will help you shape your challenge, define what meaningful progress will look like and decide your priorities and first actions.
If you are considering several possible challenges, bring them with you. We will help you decide where to focus.
What to expect during the kick-off
During the session, you will:
- Clarify the result you want to achieve and why it matters
- Define meaningful measures of success
- Explore possibilities and identify the key issues
- Decide your priorities and immediate next actions
- Identify the colleagues, sponsors or stakeholders who could help
- Create a focused roadmap for your first 60 days
You will leave with greater clarity about what success looks like, what matters most and what you will do next.
Go M.A.D. Momentum
You will use the Go M.A.D. Momentum strategy execution platform throughout the programme to keep your challenge, thinking, actions and evidence of progress together.
Your Momentum access details will be sent to you separately before the kick-off workshop.
During the programme, you can use Momentum to:
- Define a clear, meaningful challenge
- Explore possibilities and think through obstacles
- Turn ideas into prioritised actions
- Keep your goal, plans, actions and evidence together
- Capture ideas whenever they occur
- Review progress and decide what to do next
- Create additional personal Thinking Spaces for future work or personal goals
You can also invite up to five other people to contribute ideas, help prioritise actions or take ownership of agreed activity.
Protect your 1% Thinking Time
One of the few commitments we ask you to make is to protect 24 minutes each week for focused thinking.
We call this 1% Thinking Time.
This gives you space to step back from day-to-day activity, think more clearly and keep your challenge moving.
Please consider adding a recurring 24-minute appointment to your diary now, beginning after the kick-off workshop.
Your programme sessions
Please add the following dates to your diary:
Individual coaching
You will receive two individual 30-minute coaching sessions – one during each 60-day challenge.
These sessions provide dedicated time to think through obstacles, strengthen your next steps and maintain momentum.
We will contact you with details of how to arrange your first coaching session.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need previous experience of Go M.A.D.Thinking?
No. You will learn the relevant principles and tools by applying them immediately to your own live challenge.
Is the whole programme online?
Yes. The kick-off workshop, coaching and group reviews are all delivered online, so you can participate wherever you are based.
What type of challenge should I bring?
Choose an important strategic priority, improvement, opportunity or project where measurable progress within 60 days would be valuable. If you are unsure which challenge to choose, we will help you decide during the kick-off session.
Will I need to share confidential information?
No. You choose what you share in group sessions. Your detailed project information and thinking remain within your own Momentum space unless you decide to invite others.
Can I involve colleagues or stakeholders?
Yes. You can invite up to five colleagues to contribute ideas, help prioritise actions or take ownership of agreed activity within Momentum.
What happens if I miss a group review?
We will help you catch up and refocus on your next steps. The programme is designed to maintain momentum, not penalise you when work intervenes.
Can my colleague and I both work on the same priority?
Yes. You can work on separate challenges or collaborate on the same organisational priority, provided each person has clear ownership and accountability.
