WE’RE FUELLED BY THE JOY OF MAKING A POSITIVE IMPACT, AND THIS PASSION HAS DRIVEN US FOR OVER 25 YEARS. OUR JOURNEY EXTENDS FAR BEYOND THE REALMS OF LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT; IT ENCOMPASSES HOMES, COMMUNITIES, AND THE BROADER WORLD.
OUR PURPOSE
Our mission is simple yet profound: “Improve your world through better thinking.” When we elevate thinking, remarkable transformations occur. Confidence soars, relationships flourish (both professionally and personally), actions evolve, and results undergo a profound transformation.
Our journey has been an exciting one, marked by constant learning and reflection. We’re naturally curious and deeply invested in research. Everything we do is grounded in facts and experiences. Our approach has been developed, tested, and, most importantly, proven to make a difference.
THE BIRTH OF GO M.A.D. THINKING
In January 1997, Go M.A.D. Thinking was born, albeit in a humble back bedroom. Founded by Andy Gilbert, it was initially known as Career Strategies, a values-driven training and development consultancy. Thanks to Andy’s unwavering commitment, the business flourished and developed into something much more.
THE POWER OF A PASSION STATEMENT
Andy’s passion was all consuming. When searching for a way to communicate his values, with the aid of his business coach, he crafted something remarkable – the world’s first Passion Statement. It continues to this day to ignite a fire in everyone at the company, inspiring us to make a difference daily. This 74-word statement included the phrase “making a difference”.
THE QUEST FOR UNDERSTANDING
In 1998, one of our team members, Kath Roberts, asked what the essential elements of “making a difference” really were? This question led us to embark on a 14-month phenomenological research project to answer the following question; “What is the simplest way of explaining the success process that people naturally use when making a difference?”
THE EMERGENCE OF THE GO M.A.D. THINKING FRAMEWORK
Our research took us across the UK, where we spent approximately 4,000 hours interviewing, filming, and recording individuals who had made a difference – big and small. The result we discovered wasn’t a process; it was a system of thinking that underpinned successful efforts to make a difference. This gave birth to the Go M.A.D.® Results Framework – a practical model with seven key principles for achieving success.

TESTING AND EVOLUTION
Over the years, we put the Go M.A.D. 7 key principles to the test in diverse contexts – businesses, health, schools, sports, and more. The framework proved adaptable and effective, increasing the likelihood of success across various scenarios. One day, Andy was asked what the widest possible application of the Go M.A.D. methodology was. It was a great question. His response, “to help people with their thinking”, prompted a name change for the business to “Go M.A.D. Thinking”.
FROM THE 'ART OF MAKING A DIFFERENCE' AND BEYOND
In 1999, Andy published his first book, ‘Go MAD – The Art of Making a Difference.’ This book has touched the lives of hundreds of thousands of individuals who have consciously applied the key principles we unearthed from naturally successful people. Since then, over 20 books have followed, and two additional frameworks have emerged – the Go M.A.D.® Thinking Effectiveness Framework and the Go M.A.D.® Leadership Framework.
